Description: Joining or enlisting into a specific military branch, such as Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, or ROTC, to serve. Some serve without continuing their education (college) while others serve and also attend college/ university.
Different military branches offer a variety of careers and enlistment plans.
Requirements:
You must be a U.S. citizen or a resident alien.
Be between the ages of 17-34.
Have a high school diploma.
Take and pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.
Pass a Military Entrance Processing Station medical exam.
Dependent on the rank or specific branch of Military there might be additional requirements. We suggest you look into specific branches of interest and possibly connect with a recruiter from that branch.
Helpful Hints:
Do your research! Finding the "right" fit within the specific branches of the military is key. Make sure you understand all the expectations of the different programs and what opportunities they may lead to.
Connect with College! Many of the different branches are connected to college programs. When doing your research pay attention to these options and if they make sense for you. Most also pay for your college.
Talk it out! Going into the military is a big decision. Chat with your families, trusted adults, and a recruiter in the branches you are most interested in.
