TRACTION IN ACTION

On Tuesday, April 18th we had Destiny Klimaszewski share her story with our 7th-12th grade students. Our students got to hear a real story about the dangers of impaired driving and how it can impact your life. Our students also got the chance to speak with Destiny after the presentation and ask questions. On Friday, April 21st the TRACTION group also had Beth and Ken Koster present the Stop The Bleed presentation, where they taught our 7th-12th grade students what to do in case of an emergency. Students learned how to properly care for a wound, as well as how to properly use a tourniquet. Students also got a hands-on demonstration on the proper use of tourniquets, and how to wrap and pack wounds to save a life. Overall, our 7th-12th grade students had the opportunity to learn some life-saving skills, and to hear real stories about the dangers of reckless driving.

Testing Tips

We all know when it gets closer to the end of the school year we have testing, MAP testing, ECO testing, and finals. No one likes testing but we all have to do it. Some things I would do to be prepared for any type of test is get a well rested night of sleep the night before, and eat the morning of, so that way you aren't hungry during the test. Try spending 15 minutes in the morning studying and 15 minutes in the afternoon studying. This may help you remember but make sure to study right before you go to sleep the night before so that it's still fresh in your head when you go to take the test the next day. Another tip would be bring a snack so that way you have something in case you get hungry and a drink. If you put in the time to study, and put in the work to get the score you want, you will do great. Just make sure you are prepared for the test.
