Leah earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of North Alabama (UNA). Leah has a strong background in geriatric care. Leah began her teaching career at Virginia College, where she taught from 2012 to 2015. Since 2015, she has continued working as a health science educator in Madison County Schools, sharing her clinical knowledge and passion for patient-centered care with future healthcare professionals. She is married and the proud mother of two children, balancing her professional dedication to healthcare education with her commitment to family.

Sara graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery in 2015 with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. She began to work as an RN in the Emergency Department shortly after, and Emergency Services is Sara's specialty area. She eventually decided she wanted to pursue her Master's in Nursing Education and obtained her master's from the University of North Alabama in 2019. Sara transitioned to education in the summer of 2020 and has been teaching Health Science ever since! Sara is married with two children and loves spending time with her family in her time off.

Mrs. West is entering her 5th year of Health Science education at Madison County Career Technical Center. She graduated in 2009 from University of Alabama in Birmingham with a B.S in Exercise Science. She then obtained her A.S. in Physical Therapy Assistant from Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, AL. Mrs. West spent 10 years in the field of Physical Therapy in various settings including: orthopedics, skilled nursing care and home health care. Mrs. West is very excited to bring her passion for healthcare into the lives of the students in her classroom. Mrs. West and her husband, Zach have been married for 15 years. They have 3 children, Anna, Abby and Eli who are all very involved in various sports. In her free time, Mrs. West enjoys spending time with her family on the lake and watching her children play their sports.
