Math 6

Course Description

In Math 6, students will expand their understanding of number lines and fractional numbers, use symbols to represent the world, and reason with proportions. Students will identify and use unit rates to describe events. They will increase their understanding of geometry by decomposing and rearranging two- and three-dimensional shapes. Students will visualize the center and spread of data sets as well as construct appropriate statistical displays. Overall, students will greatly increase their ability to generalize about mathematics and relate important concepts back to real-world situations.

Online Notes: OneNote

Every note taken in class is automatically uploaded to your Google Classroom account! The Google Classroom CLASSWORK tab contains a link to the online notes on OneNote. Use OneNote's left-side navigation tabs to find the current chapter and lesson.

Students who are absent (excused or otherwise) are expected to copy down the notes into their notebook to receive participation credit.

Homework Assignments and Class Activities

Google Classroom is the primary resource for accessing all in-class activities and assignments. Homework is assigned daily and is always due the following day unless otherwise noted. Students must show all work for credit. See the Homework Policy page for details.

Test and Quiz Calendar

Google Classroom is the place to go to see all scheduled quizzes and tests. Click on the CLASSWORK tab and then CLASS CALENDAR in the Resource section to see upcoming assessments. The Class Calendar is updated on a weekly basis. See the Assessment Policy page for details.
