In order to meet the standards under Common Core (see links below), our English Language Arts Curriculum is the CCC (Center for the Collaborative Classroom) program entitled "Making Meaning." In the Making Meaning curriculum, quality literature is used to guide students in reading and vocabulary instruction. Students will read and be guided through thinking about, questioning, discussing, rereading, and responding to the texts. For detailed information about the program, please visit: https://www.collaborativeclassroom.org/programs/making-meaning/.

We will be implementing the CCC curriculum and will also incorporate structural components of The Daily Five, a literacy program that highlights five areas that increase literacy: Read to Self, Listen to Reading, Word Work, Teacher Time, and Work on Writing. We will also be using some of our beloved fourth grade core literature novels as read alouds. Such novels may include Wonder, The Lemonade War, and more!Â
