- Taking the proper steps for heat safety can help us avoid illnesses like heat stroke or exhaustion.
- Heat stroke is the #1 preventable death in the US.
- It is important to stay hydrated and cool in the extreme heat. Here are some tips to keep cool:
- Make sure to wear sunscreen
- Stay in shaded areas when possible
- Wear lightweight clothing
- Drink lots of water and electrolytes
- Excessive heat can put a strain on our bodies, so we want to make sure that we keep our athletes and spectators safe!

- Not only does our weather station measure wet bulb globe temperature, but it also measures the Air Quality Index.
- It is also helpful for air quality and lighting.
- During fires, we are able to continuously monitor the air quality and ensure that our athletes are safe.
