Dionysus' description varies from tale to tale, "originally depicted as a more mature, bearded figure," (Moutzouri) to a, "youthful, beautiful, but effeminate god of wine," (EncyclopediaMythica). Due to his ability to shapeshift into certain animals and his associations with winemaking, a few of his many diverse symbols include, "leopard, panther, tiger, goat, grapes, ivy and goblets," (TalesBeyondBelief).
