As previously stated, Dionysus' mother passed at the sight of Zeus' true form, however, "Zeus managed to rescue the fetal Dionysus and stitched him into his thigh until he would be ready to be born. His birth from Zeus conferred immortality upon him," and once he was born, "Zeus arranged for his protection and gave him to the mountain nymphs to be raised," (GreekMythology). It is heavily debated whether or not Dionysus is a true Olympian god due to the circumstances of his birth and early life; however, by most, he is considered a god because he ascended to Mount Olympus and was accepted by his peers as part of their group.
