Training Information & Career Spotlight
The LLNL apprenticeship program is used by select LLNL organizations to prepare participants as California-state certified journeymen in target occupations. The apprentice receives on-the-job training under journey-level guidance and takes community-college classes to gain the skills necessary for the job title.
LLNL missions depend on specialized manufacturing capabilities not available outside the Laboratory. Manufacturing professionals make up about 10 percent of the Engineering workforce: they fabricate parts for LLNL to implement research and design innovations, all with a cost-effective, low-waste ethos.
