Diwali has been celebrated for millennia and a half within various religions and cultures. Families & friends come together, adorn themselves with new clothes, share sweets & other homemade delicacies while lighting diyas. The general belief is good over evil, new beginnings, unity, peace and harmony.

The steps are:
- We mix up the base white clay body, which uses 83.3% recycled content, and 16.7% china and ball clay sourced from Devon and Cornwall.- To this, up to 3% of colour stain is added to get each of the 3 colours, and then they're extruded through a vacuum pug-mill that removes any air from the clay.- The different colours are then combined together to make base 'blocks' that combine the 3 colours and white.- These blocks are then sliced up like a loaf of bread, using a wire cutter, and each slice is placed in the hydraulic Ram Press to press into soap dish shape.- The soap dishes are released using air that blows through the mould, they're flipped upside down and allowed to dry on their rims- When they've firmed up to the stage of being leather hard, the holes are punched out of the base of each dish and the seams from the ram press are removed using a sponge- They're dried for a further 4-5 days and then fired in an electric kiln up to 1200c so they become completely vitrified and non absorbent."
