The program focuses on developing students into confident, organized, and responsible digital learners. Students learn how to manage files, communicate professionally through email, collaborate online, create documents and presentations, organize schedules, and work with data using Google Workspace. They continue strengthening their typing, coding, and digital design abilities while developing practical skills they can apply across subjects. Students also learn about responsible AI use, including using AI as a learning and creative tool, checking information for accuracy, protecting personal information, giving appropriate credit, and understanding that AI should support—not replace—their own thinking and learning.
Digital Technology prepares students to use technology independently, effectively, and responsibly for learning, communication, and creative projects. Students continue developing typing and coding skills through Typing.com and Code.org, while exploring digital design with various digital design platforms. Students are introduced to the Google Workspace ecosystem, including Google Classroom, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Slides, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Drive, learning how these tools work together for schoolwork, collaboration, organization, and communication. Students will also learn how to navigate important web pages needed for Middle School. The program also covers email etiquette, technology vocabulary, digital citizenship, and the responsible use of AI, helping students understand how to use technology safely, respectfully, and ethically.
