The overall goal of the Elementary Digital Technology Program is to develop students who are confident, capable, creative, critical, and responsible users of technology.
Students should be able to use digital tools not simply to complete tasks, but to learn, create, communicate, collaborate, research, solve problems, and make informed decisions. These foundational competencies prepare students for the increasing technological demands of secondary education, future careers, and everyday life.
The Elementary Digital Technology Program provides students with a structured progression of practical digital skills, beginning with foundational computer knowledge and developing toward independent, creative, and responsible use of technology.
Elementary Digital Technology provides students with a structured and progressive foundation in digital literacy, computer skills, creativity, problem-solving, communication, and responsible technology use. The program is designed to develop students’ confidence and independence as they progress from basic computer skills in Kindergarten to more advanced digital applications, coding, research, collaboration, emerging technologies, and responsible AI use by Grade 5.
Through age-appropriate, hands-on learning experiences, students develop the ability to operate digital devices, create and organize digital content, communicate effectively, solve problems, conduct research, and use technology safely, ethically, and responsibly.
