About Me!
About Me
My name is Emily Pool. I am an Instructional Technology Coach with the Learning Technology Center of Illinois (LTC)🔗. This is my first year as a Coach and have enjoyed supporting Pittsfield & Payson School Districts.
Prior to Coaching, I was a classroom teacher for grades 3 & 4 in Quincy, IL. I enjoyed time with students in the classroom for 18 years...that's more than 320 students...if you're counting! And every one of them was special & important.
My passions in Education are finding fun, efficient and effective ways to engage students with learning. I love adding technology to projects because we can so easily share the great creations of our students. I enjoy learning new tools to engage learners with 21st Century Skills and inspire creative thinking.

Brief: Make a Bigger Impact by Saying Less
Very interesting! Only 2 chapters in. I understand WHY I need to be brief...now on to learning HOW! :)
Stop Talking, Start Influencing
By: Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath
I LOVED this book. So many great implications for learners & teachers. Find ways to make your information be memorable. A fun read too, with "activities & connections"
I originally heard this author on Jake Miller's Educational DuctTape Podcast - it hooked me! You can hear that episode HERE

Can you make change when it seems like no one wants to change? How can an elephant, rider & path show you insight to big change?
This book is an amazing analogy of how change happens. A joyful read for someone who wants to impact their world.
The Complete EdTech Coach
by: Juarez & Goyette
A wonderfully insightful book on how to be an organic, in the trenches EdTech Coach. Relationships matter. Be seen.
Bring what supports educators first.
Listen.
A great read to help me get started this first year coaching.
My Family
When I'm not busy doing school & school stuff, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband Nate and I enjoy going to concerts and traveling. He is a full time firefighter with Quincy Fire Department.
We have two daughters, Madeline & Aubrey. Madeline is a student and is starting at the University of Minnesota - Mankato in August 2022. Madeline enjoys her studies in the area of Performing Arts - she is a gifted, talented hardworking singer & actor.
Aubrey is a high school student at Quincy Senior High School. She works hard at her studies, participates in Cheer Team (at school & private cheer team) and enjoys time with friends.
Finally, we have our furry kid, Eddie. Eddie is a 100 lb. Chocolate Lab who loves playing ball, going for walks and laying around.
