Homework

Homework is essential to your success. It not only helps you learn new material but enriches and reviews as well. You have my promise that all homework, as well as all work in class, will never be busy work but will be relevant to your learning experience.

So how can you be successful?

So how do I know I have homework? The first step is to remember you have homework. This can be especially difficult in classes where homework is sporadic. So how do you know our homework?

1) Homework will always be on the Google calendar on this website.

2) Homework will also be on the board in the classroom. Make sure to find the best way for you to remember the assignment. You can

a. Write it in your agenda

b. Use your phone to take a photo of the assignment

c. Use your phone to text yourself the homework

d. Write in your notebook, and set it in your backpack to take home.

e. Use your Chromebook and email yourself the assignment.

Just ensure to find a way that works for you. Remember, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. If you start missing homework, find a different system.

What if my work is late? Is it in Google Classroom, Schoology, or paper copy?

1) If it is a Google Classroom or Schoology assignment, I won't know it is there unless you tell me. When you turn in an assignment late, email me at susanne.mitko@lsr7.net. Make sure to include the name of the assignment.

2) If it is a paper assignment, place it in the black tray in the back of the room. If you were absent, make sure to say that on the paper.

Does it hurt to have a late assignment? Yes! Just like a bill paid late comes with a penalty, so does late work. If it is a simple, daily assignment, you can only earn 50%. If it is a larger assignment, you will lose 10% the first day, 20% the second, and 50% the third day. After that, you will need to see me and discuss the assignment. Of course if you were absent, the handbook policy will be followed.
