Leveraging the PicCollage app, French students shared ten things about themselves to get to know each other and build class relationships. This interpersonal project involved writing, speaking, listening, and reading.
During our COVID-19 hybrid-learning environment, teachers and students are making creative uses of asynchronous applications to demonstrate learning. Our French students recently created clever videos for summative assessment to show what they know on the two major past tenses in French: Passé Composé and Imparfait. This project involved speaking, writing, and reading.

To foster student engagement, several teachers have leveraged Google Jamboard, an interactive digital whiteboard, into our hybrid learning environment. Jamboard is a free application included in our Google For Education account. It allows students to interact in real time with each other, their teacher, and the content. This boosts the sense of classroom community, connection, and engagement. It also helps make learning stick.
In the examples below, Tania Pineda's Spanish classes use a variety of Jamboard templates as warm-up, formative feedback, creative, and reflective activities. She loves the simplicity and versatility of Jamboard features, such as limited color options and limited drawing tools. This makes it easier for both her and her students to learn. Easy access within Google Suites and an iPad app are other enticing features. She finds the interactivity a great way to bridge between in-person and remote students.
Tania presented a very informative introductory learning session in November via Zoom. You can find the recording of her session on the GoRamblers Resources page, E-Learning and Work From Home Resources tile.
