We have all heard about the benefits of Finnish education for years and this course has made it possible for me to get to know it first hand.
I have been able to see all the stages that students go through, starting from preschool to finish at university. After learning about a particular stage, we followed with a visit to a school teaching that stage.
Far too enriching than I expected because apart from the theoretical classes, every principal was eager to answer all the questions we placed. Besides, some students came to explain how they felt about education, the pros and cons they had, their point of view.
To put the icing on the cake, we visited Porvoo and Helsinki and learned about their history, had some Finnish typical food and listened to Finnish folk music, or even dance!
To sum up, it was a great experience.
I had a very positive experience in Braga
and Oporto.
During the course, that lasted from the 28th of April to the 3rd of May 2025, we learned about the role that board games can play in education. More specifically, we learned in a very practical way how to evaluate different board games and chose the most suitable ones for the classroom or context; how to use board games to engage students and promote critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and team-work skills; how to design our own board-games to use in our classrooms; and finally, how to create lesson plans that integrate these amazing games.
On top of that, we had a fantastic time in beautiful Portugal. I can only recommend taking part in the Erasmus+ program.
We are Ane and Amaia, teachers from the high school Los Herrán and thanks to the Erasmus+ program, we spent a week at Saint Kliment Ohridski High School in Dalgopol, in eastern Bulgaria.
We had a wonderful and warm welcome during our stay. They welcomed us with traditional clothes, songs and food that reflect the local culture. That was amazing! We also met many teachers from different subjects, both science and literature, in order to observe and learn what their education system is like. We stayed with students from different levels, from 1st grade to 12th grade.
In conclusion, we had a great experience and we would like to praise the closeness of the locals. Thank you very much (Bragodarya). See you soon again!
Los Herrán Institutoko Ane eta Amaia, irakasleak gara. Aste betez, Erasmus+ Programari esker, Bulgariako ekialdean topatzen den Dalgopoleko Saint Kliment Ohridski High School-en egon gara.
Izugarrizko harrera egin digute bertan egon garen bitartean. Bertako kulturaren erakusle diren jantzi, abesti eta jakiekin ongi etorri eta agur beroan egin digutelarik.
Horretaz gain, ikasgai desberdinetako irakasleekin, bai zientzia eta baita letretakoekin ere, hartu emana izan dugu bertako hezkuntza sistema zein den ikusi ahal izateko. Maila ezberdinetako ikasleak ikusi ditugu lanean, 1st grade-etik hasi eta 12 grade arte.
Experientzia izugarria bizi izan dugu eta bertakoen gertutasuna goraipatuko genuke. Eskerrik asko (Bragodarya)
