I can tell you the main idea and details of a grade level multi-paragraph text.
I can use grade level appropriate capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing about my reading.
SUGGESTED PRACTICE
Independent reading for 20+ minutes a day
Read to your child for 20 minutes daily and ask them questions about the text (who, what, when, where, why).
Encourage your child to keep a journal and provide them feedback on their writing.
