Mateo Dillaway is thrilled to be the 5th and 6th grade Band Director for Loomis Grammar, H. Clarke Powers, Penryn and Ophir Elementary, the director for Concert Band North, and the 4th grade General Music teacher for H. Clarke Powers and Loomis Grammar. He has performed professionally as a percussionist for the past 15 years in the greater Bay Area in everything from Pop, Jazz, Musicals and Rock to serving as the Percussion Section Leader of the San Francisco Wind Symphony.
Mr. Dillaway served the San Rafael community for seven years teaching Band, Guitar, Steel Pans and Brazilian Marching Band at Venetia Valley K-8 in San Rafael, California and have spent the past year teaching at Anne McKenney Middle School in Marysville, California. In San Rafael, also I served the greater community as President of the Marin Music Educators Association from 2016 to 2020 and served on the California Music Educators Association Bay Section Board from 2016-2018.
