Mateo Dillaway is thrilled to be the 5th and 6th grade Band Director for Loomis Grammar, H. Clarke Powers, Penryn and Ophir Elementary, the director for Concert Band North, and the 4th grade General Music teacher for H. Clarke Powers and Loomis Grammar. He has performed professionally as a percussionist for the past 21 years in the greater Bay Area and Sacramento area in everything from Pop, Jazz, Musicals and Rock to serving as the Percussion Section Leader of the San Francisco Wind Symphony, and actively performs with Sacramento local symphonies.
Mr. Dillaway served the San Rafael community for seven years teaching Band, Guitar, Steel Pans and Brazilian Marching Band at Venetia Valley K-8 in San Rafael, California, and spent one year teaching at Anne McKenney Middle School in Marysville, California. In San Rafael, also he also served the greater community as President of the Marin Music Educators Association from 2016 to 2020 and served on the California Music Educators Association Bay Section Board from 2016-2018, served as the Percussion Coach of the Santa Rosa Youth Symphony, and organized several Honor Bands, music teacher inservices and community events.
