Meet the Counselors

Hello, my name is Mitch Knowles.  I am the School Counselor (formerly known as Guidance Counselor) here at Glenbrook Middle School.  I have been providing direct counseling services to adolescents since 1998, and I have been a middle school counselor since January of 2009.  I joined the counseling department at Glenbrook Middle School in August of 2016. 

Some of my roles and responsibilities are the following (but not limited to): Teaching student lessons about self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making; assisting students with their middle school and 9th grade schedule; providing individual and group counseling; communication with grade level teams; organizing our Explore Day (similar to a career day); co-teaching lessons with our gr. 8 Peer Leadership class; co-facilitating lessons with our School Adjustment Counselor in Health and Technology class; and contributing insight and knowledge of the student to our RTI and Child Study Teams.
