Kazımpaşa Secondary School is a public non-profit school for children at the age of 10 to 14 . There are 743 pupils attending our school and 52 staff members (teachers, headmaster, administrative and pedagogical staff). It is a part of obligatory secondary education for all children in Turkish Republic. The students are accepted at the age of 10 and they take four years of secondary education at our school. Our school also has a special needs classroom and the children with special needs get a support of individual educational plan or personal assistant in this classroom. Our school is located in the center of the town, Torbalı, which is very near to historical places like Ephesus, Virgin Mary, Miletos and some famous touristic places and beaches by the Aegean Sea. Torbalı is 25 km away from the Adnan Menderes International Airport. Since it is an agricultural and industrial area, there are lots of factories and fields in our region. So our pupils and their families’ profile is multicultural. Our pupils also participate in various extracurricular activities, such as robotics coding, chess, drama, music and folk dances. Our students also do many sport activities like football, volleyball, handball or basketball. Our school has got facilities, these are a football pitch with basketball court, a playground for small children, an IT classroom, an Art classroom, a Science lab, interactive whiteboards in each classroom and a canteen. Since it will be our school’s first project, our pupils and teachers will have the opportunity of learning new cultures and lifestyles, developing their ICT and communication skills, learning about other schools conditions and recognising our school’s

needs and understanding the importance of knowing a foreign language. The teachers will improve their teaching strategies by visiting partner schools, observing, discussing and sharing their colleagues’ different aspects of education.
