Memories from Lowicz, Poland, by Vilém
We set off from Prague - the Main Station and spent several hours on the train to Warsaw where we changed the train to Łowicz. The hosting families were waiting for us to take us to their homes. Then we went to a local park by the river to join the Festival of Colours. On Monday morning we went to school and gathered in the gym for the opening ceremony. After that, we were taken to a small gym to get the instructions for presentations of the individual countries. After lunch in the school canteen we went to Łowicz to do some sightseeing. We were split into a few international groups and given a list of sights to find, take photos of and search for information about them. On Tuesday, the bus took us to a nearby Maurzyce open-air folk museum. We joined all the school children for the mass dedicated to Jan Pavel II., the former pope and the Łowicz school patron which took part in an ancient local church. Then we had a guided tour and after lunch in a museum restaurant we had to find 6 things that were used in past. On Wednesday we went for a day trip to Łodz. We had an interesting guided tour in the Centre of Science and Technology, a former power plant. We had fun trying some interactive activities. We had lunch in a local shopping mall and then had a short guided tour of the historical part of the city. On Thursday we were in the school making our presentations of the things we found on Tuesday. The task was to find out if they are still used now or were replaced by other devices. We also had to come up with an invention that might be useful in future. We worked in international groups and then we presented our findings and ideas. In the evening we had an open-air good-bye party at a local ranch. We ate and drank and danced a lot. Friday was the farewell day. The families and school teachers saw us off to the station and when the train came it was time to get back home.
Memories from Madrid, Spain, by Julie
The Erasmus is a wonderful idea and I´am so glad I could of be part of it. Best part of erasmus is meeting new people, because you learn a lot from it. I was specifically in Spain. It was so good because we weren't in the center of the city. So when we were in the city it was more magical. The school where we were was very nice and the teachers were so kind. Everything fit as it should. I think everyone thought we would be shy but then even from the beginning we had fun. We figured out that everyone is the same and we don't have to be shy. We did so many things. It seems like a month, not just 5 days.
We were doing a lot of projects in school, for example painting pictures or solving a lot of political problems. If I had another chance, I would go again.
Memories from Izmir, Turkey, by Adam
On Sunday 3rd October we all arrived to Turkey, then the Turkish teachers picked us up and drove us to the hotel.
Next morning the same bus took us to the school, where we got to make our own name tag and then draw something that represents us.
After that each of us got the same Turkish student that gave us a school tour, then we presented our presentations about art methods.
At 12:30 there was lunch which was very delicious because it was cooked by the Turkish parents. In the afternoon we went to MillPark for Art workshop, where everyone made their own a bird and a bag. After that we went to Pamucak Beach to pick up wastes from the beach, this activity was kind of a surprise, everyone got their own plastic gloves and plastic trash bag. In the evening for students and teachers where we were supposed to get to know each other, there were some activities which were really for the smaller ones among us. On Tuesday the 5th October at 8:30 meet at school at 9:00 we presented presentations about Religions at school then the presentations or sketches about important people in faraway past it was nice to know something from other cultures. After that we had delicious lunch and we went to visit the Ephesus and Şirince Village it is very nice village with awesome views. On Wednesday was the workshop for students where we glued some plastic onto a canvas and then sprayed it with black spray. After lunch there was another workshop in which we had to sew something.
On Thursday we went to Izmir, very beautiful city, we took a cable car that took us up the mountain, there we saw the whole Izmir, then in the evening was the final goodbye party, sadly the next day on Friday 08th October we all left. But I really enjoyed the whole erasmus trip to Turkey. It was nice to experience a different culture and find out that it is not so different then the Czech one, and the food, food was delicious!
