Recess

At Bridger, in order to ensure the most joyful, free and inclusive recess experience for all our students we implement a protocol for a productive recess.  We use the PlayWorks framework.  Here are the five simple principles of play for our students:

1. Every kid has the opportunity to play every day - from the classroom, to the playground.

2. Kids get to choose to play and to choose games that make them happy.

3. Kids have the right tools to resolve playground conflicts on their own.

4. Play is not treated as a reward to be revoked.

5. Everyone is welcome to join in the game, because playing together is a great way to build community.  

If you would like to learn more you can visit playworks.org.  Our faculty and staff love all of the students.  We believe this structured and productive recess will help keep our students safe.  Through play, our students will discover the joy of physical activity as well as the social and emotional skills they will use in the classroom and in life.
