Honors Music Theory

Honors Music Theory is the course taught by Mr. Porter. Honors Music Theory is course designed to challenge students to look at music in a new way. Taking fundamental knowledge gained through the student's participation in an ensemble class, Music Theory explores the inner workings of music that the student has been performing. This course examines the "why" of musical composition. Students will be working on sheet music analysis skills, sight singing, composition, and aural skills.
