Education @LHS

Music education takes many forms and can be classified into four types of instruction: Instrumental Music (performance ensembles and lessons), Vocal Music (performance ensembles), Music Harmonization (piano and theory), and General Music (currently taught in grades 1-7 only). The performance mediums of instrumental and vocal music are the application of musical concepts first learned in General and/or Harmonized Music classes. Lodi High School offers a mix of curricular and extra curricular opportunities supporting music education: Concert Band, Honors Band, Instrumental Lessons, Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, Honors Madrigal Choir, Concert Choir, Piano I and II, Honors Music Theory, and the Tri-M National Music Honor Society.

This website is constructed to provide an overview of performance groups and classes as well as faculty, parent support, technology, and advocacy for the Arts in Lodi High School. The Director of Bands is Mr. Samuel Porter and the Director of Choirs is Mr. Ryan McCann. If you need to contact either instructor, please use the email links below.
