Fitness Basics / Week 1.

Objectives -

  1. Students will review the American College of Sports Medicine’s definition of Physical Fitness, identify and paraphrase information on Hypokinetic diseases, and describe the relationship between fitness levels and the prevention of Hypokinetic disease.

  2. Students will review the definitions of the 5 health related components of fitness and the research based testing and evaluation methods used for each. Students will perform and record data for all tests except cardio. Students will evaluate results based on fitnessgram standards.

To Do for Week 1

  • Review the ACSM intro Video.

  • Complete the Pear Deck - HRCOF Slide Deck. - Questions embedded in the deck. You must complete all 5 questions to receive full credit. - Make sure you mark completed in your google classroom!

  • Perform and Review - Foundations for Safe Exercise Google Slide Deck. Complete the 5 Exercises at the end of the slide. - Mark completed when you have completed the work out. -

  • Complete the preliminary fitness test's. You will upload your results.
