Artist Statement:

"The theme for my Sustained Investigation is my Jewish Identity. While my Jewish identity, at its core, stems from my religion, it is so much more than that. Judaism has provided me with the opportunity to have countless hours of meaningful, social, and cultural experiences, such as getting involved with BBYO and traveling to Israel. Judaism not only connects me to my heritage and ancestry but also to a global community and movement that I am proud to stand with and fight for in the face of devastation and adversity.

Therefore, I set forth on this investigation to visually explore the many facets of what I believe makes up my Jewish Identity. I pushed myself artistically with each piece and demonstrated my different styles and skills while also exploring my creativity and going outside of my comfort zone. This can be seen in my use of all sorts of media, such as digital drawing tablets, programs in the Adobe Creative Suite, and watercolor paints. Each piece went through many variations in both the sketching and execution phases to make sure that it accurately represents each aspect of my Jewish identity."
