Credits:       No High School Credit

Students enrolled in 8th Grade Lit. Support take this course in addition to English 8. The course is designed as a supplemental support class; as such, the curriculum map for Lit. Support is separate from the English 8 curriculum, but also addresses the 8th grade ELA standards. (The course does not aim to teach below-grade level standards.) Students who take this course will have double the exposure to texts, reading and writing tasks, and 8th grade ELA skills.

This course is designed to teach academic skills and self-advocacy that can be applied in content area general education classes.  In addition, this course provides accommodations for students who need additional time for test taking, a quiet study environment and/or additional work time.  All students registering for this class must have an IEP and teacher/case manager permission.
