How are we using GoGuardian?
We have chosen GoGuardian Admin and GoGuardian Teacher services to:
Help protect students against harmful and inappropriate online material by filtering and blocking access to websites.
Help students stay more focused when learning online.
Help assess students’ progress towards class assignments.
Facilitate communication between teachers and students during class time.

Parents also have access to the GoGuardian Parent app. An email was sent to all parents in November with information regarding the app. Click here to view the letter sent to parents about the GoGuardian Parent app.
The Children's Internet Privacy Act of 2011 requires school districts to conduct monitoring and filtering of student internet devices and accounts. Livingston Public Schools has selected GoGuardian services to assist in our commitment to keeping students safe and maintaining privacy of student data.
Livingston School District enables teachers to use GoGuardian Teacher monitoring with students in their classes only during school hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. GoGuardian Admin website filtering is automatically enabled whenever a student is logged into a Google for Education Chrome school account.
GoGuardian is active any time a student is logged into their school account regardless of what computer the student is using. Therefore, parents and families are advised to log out of school accounts when using a personal device for school purposes.
GoGuardian for Digital Learning
Teachers may choose to use GoGuardian as a classroom management tool during class time. To see a brief overview of the helpful tools GoGuardian offers teachers, please watch the video to the left.
Google Profiles
In order to ensure that personal Google accounts are kept separate from school Google accounts, it is highly recommended that profiles are created. A Google profile allows all bookmarks and extensions to be synced so that no matter what device you work on, all of your information stays with you. Using a Google profile will also ensure that your personal data does not appear in your LPS school account.

GoGuardian Parent App
GoGuardian Parent was created to help provide additional educational support to administrators and teachers by allowing parents to see what sites and documents their children are browsing and providing parents with additional internet controls at home. The app gives parents a bird's eye view of the apps and websites that their kids are on most often and control over school-issued devices during out-of-school hours. With this perspective, parents can be made aware of what types of browsing behavior schools are seeing from students so they can all work together to encourage more effective internet browsing habits at home and at school.
