Students will identify the employment opportunities, technology and safety requirements of diagnostic, therapeutic health informatics, support services, as well as biotechnology research and development systems used to provide comprehensive health care.

The Health Science courses are designed to provide for the development of advanced knowledge and skills related to a wide variety of health careers. Students will have hands-on experiences for continued knowledge and skill development.

This two semester class in your Junior Year, will include a course in Dual Credit Medical Terminology and Dual Credit Anatomy and Physiology for Emergency Medical Technicians. At the completion of the courses students will complete certification in BLS in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation with AED.

Your Senior course provides knowledge and skills needed to complete the EMT certification. Students will need to provide scrubs and stethoscope for hands-on learning experiences. This course is taught in conjunction with Kilgore College and Longview Fire Department. Skills will be taught in a variety of settings and upon completion of this course students will sit for the National Registry Exam.
