Booking iWonder
Please book as far in advance as possible. Email drew.mconnell@lipscomb.edu
For those of you who are new or just need a refresher, here are our overall goals:
To put students in an environment that is as real-world as possible
To empower students to drive their own learning process
To have students learn course content (whether it is math, science, English, social studies, etc.) through the process of design thinking and problem-solving
To foster critical thinking and collaboration
We achieve these goals by working with teachers to design experiences for their classes that require students to identify real-world problems related to the subject matter and design solutions to them. Sometimes the solutions involve the creation of physical objects (for which we have almost any tool you could want), and sometimes they are more abstract in nature.
Innovation Options
Create in your own classroom with makerspace supplies. (with or without an integration specialist)
Book the iWonder lab for classroom activities that require more specialized equipment for 1 or 2 days or more if iterations are needed.
iWonder will be a place where teachers can design and be inspired, too. If you’re designing something for your class and just need a brainstorming partner, let us be a resource to you. I can be a thought partner, or if you and a group of teachers just need a different setting in which to collaborate, come use iWonder!
Changes in the plan will naturally occur during the process as you iterate. Plan for that time also. Booking may be dependent on the activity involved. Your activity should involve all the 4 C's - Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication - Try to add a 5th C - Community

Meet to discuss the project--come with a fully-formed plan, or come with just a bit of inspiration, and we’ll fill in the rest together
