Child Find is a legal requirement for a Local Education Agency (LEA) to locate all children who have disabilities and who may be entitled to special education services. Identifying these children early is an important first step toward getting them the help they need to succeed in school.
Child Find covers every child from birth through age 21, including children that are homeschooled or attending a private school.
Referrals may be initiated by Parents, Teachers, Physicians, Outside Agencies, Therapists, ECI, etc.
