STUDENTS NEEDING TO LEAVE EARLY
We cannot accept phone calls for student release. We cannot have your student waiting for you so please allow a few extra minutes in case there are problems locating the student.
Parents/guardians must present a valid ID in the front office in order to check out a student early.
If leaving for a medical or dental appointment, the absence will remain as unexcused until a doctor's or dentist's note is received by the Attendance office. Notes should be turned in within 48 hours of the appointment.
Students who become ill during the school day must go to the nurse's office PRIOR to contacting their parent. Please wait for the nurse to contact you before coming to pick up your student. If a student checks out 'sick' without seeing the nurse, the absence will not be excused.
Parents cannot pick up their child the last 15 minutes of the day. Leaving school early can be as detrimental to a child’s education as being tardy. Please limit your early checkout to necessary appointments such as doctor or dental visits. Your child will not be eligible for perfect attendance awards if he/she is tardy to school and/or checks out early for reasons other than a medical appointment more than 4 times. Early-outs will also be evaluated when considering Out-of-District transfer requests and/or renewals.
