Lesson focus:
Know the technological achievements of the Shang Dynasty and explain their significance.
Lesson description:
The lesson will involve historical research, utilising various resources to help pupils understand the significant achievements of the Shang Dynasty and their importance.
We will apply a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach, allowing students to access the content and showcase their learning outcomes in ways that best suit their individual needs. Students will also be encouraged to collaborate on their research to support their understanding.
The Mapmaker Pilot
Arron Hutchinson, Year 5 Teacher, Whitefield Primary School, Liverpool, explains how he uses the platform with his pupils to develop.

The Mapmaker Pilot offers a successful implementation of National Geographic MapMaker in primary schools through a collaborative pilot led by Bob Usher from LGfL and Esri UK and Nat Geo.
MapMaker was used across different year groups, from early years integrating geography with literacy to older students exploring topics like plate tectonics.
