As my coding skills have grown, I have started using them to benefit not only myself, but also DJ Products.
I work at DJ Products, and have been working there since the beginning of my junior year in High School. I love working there, but had a few gripes. We receive orders forms when making carts. The forms have boxes next to every part that could go on any cart, and only a few of the boxes will be checked on any given order. The checking of the boxes is done in pen, as the order form template is already printed. My biggest pet-peeve with this system, is that the order of the boxes on the template is completely not intuitive. When I first started working, I remember asking co-workers, "Why are these over here, when the should be over here?" or "Why are these on the page if they never get used for this type of cart?". So, to combat my issues, I talked to my boss one day if he would be interested in a change. We settled on the idea for the final project, and I got to work.
When making orders, the creator would see this on a pre-printed sheet of paper. They then would check the boxes that apply in pen. When they are done, the boxes that aren't being used are still there, and can be confusing.
This is what the order would look like after the user selects the appropriate boxes using my solution. They only see the applicable boxes, making it much easier to look at.
This project was very fun to work on, and will make work much easier for everyone involved!
