Very early in my time with the technology department, Mr. Andruschak (my mentor), told me that a teacher in the district was having trouble implementing a timer in her classroom lesson. She tried using google's timer, but because it was online, she couldn't use it in her presentation. So, she came to the tech department.
Mr. Andruschak asked if I could use my knowledge in coding to accomplish the task. My response was "I'll give it a shot!". Below is what I came up with on my first attempt.
You click on the box of how much time you want, and it animates as is counts down.
I revived some feedback from the teacher, and she wanted to have it be set to a specific time. So, after some trial and error, I was able to create this.
In the boxes, you can enter however much time you want, and it counts down.
She loved the second rendition, but asked if perhaps music could be played in the background. I had never worked with sounds before, so I had to do some research to make this work. I eventually made the jeopardy theme song note by note, because downloading it would be illegal. Here it is!
This timer functions in the same way as the second timer, but now has sound!
I am satisfied with the results, and so is the teacher!Â
