Marry Me - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFdbZHMBxfg
The short follows a young girl who has a crush on a boy that lives across the street from her, she tries to get his attention but all he seems to be focused on is cycling, so she tries her best to try to get his attention by riding her bike around him but he doesn't even look at her, he's too busy either fixing his bike so it has no training wheels or building a ramp so he can do a trick. She teaches herself to ride without training wheels for him, she rides around without her training wheels in front of him but he still doesn't look at her, she offers her bike but he refuses saying its a girls bike, finally the little girl has had enough and decides to ride down his ramp and go high in the air and back down, he finally notices her but she just rides away.
The short film shows the journey of this little girl trying to change herself and teach herself things for the sake of someone else, someone who doesn't even spare her a second look, but when she went up the ramp, landed and cycled away it connotes that she finally found her self worth and realised that she doesn't need to try to impress someone and that she just learnt all these new things such as riding without a training wheel and riding up a ramp whilst the little boy still cant ride without training wheels.
The short film has a lively, upbeat soundtrack that really compliments the short film. Upbeat and lively music is often paired with youth and children.
The short film utilises montage is a way that I also want to do for my short film, the montage is quick and effective, it shows the little girl learning to ride her bike without training wheels, I will need a montage for when my character learns to put on makeup.
