Reflection on past projects:
Over the course of my creative journey, I've had the opportunity to work on a range of multimedia projects that have not only strengthened my technical skills but also deepened my understanding of storytelling, communication, and social impact.
One of my formative projects was the creation of a short horror film using Adobe Premiere Pro. This project pushed me to explore pacing, tension, and atmosphere, all very important in the horror genre. Through this, I gained an even better understanding in video editing techniques, sound design, and colour grading, all while learning how to create suspense visually and rhythmically. It also taught me the importance of post-production in shaping narrative tone and viewer engagement.
I did scriptwriting using a website called WriterDuet. Writing a structured script taught me to think more critically about character development, dialogue, and plot architecture. Using WriterDuet also introduced me to industry-standard formatting and collaborative writing tools, which are essential for working in team-based creative environments.
In a project with strong social relevance, I produced a campaign podcast video aimed at raising awareness about the mental health impact on neurodivergent vs. neurotypical individuals. This was a pivotal experience in using media as a tool for advocacy. I had to research deeply, script thoughtfully, and present with empathy. It sharpened my skills in audience analysis, narrative framing, and inclusive communication. Most importantly, it broadened my perspective on mental health and the importance of representation in media.
Finally, I created a surrealist music video using Premiere Pro, which allowed me to break away from conventional storytelling and experiment with abstract imagery and symbolic visuals. This project pushed my creative boundaries and taught me to trust intuition while also understanding the importance of editing flow, music synchronization, and thematic consistency. It was an exercise in creative freedom, but also balancing visual experimentation with storytelling.
Across all these projects, I’ve developed a strong foundation in digital editing, creative writing, and multimedia production. More importantly, I've learned how to communicate complex ideas, whether emotional, social, or artistic, through layered, meaningful content. These experiences have not only shaped my skill set but also my voice as a storyteller who is thoughtful, adaptable, and socially aware.
