People who watch short films are usually those who are artistic, independent people as short films are something that you would have to go out of your way to watch. Although some people come across short films through niche means such as following certain small directors who may promote their films on their social media. 

Most short films are distributed on youtube which leads the main audience to be younger people between the ages of 13-22 who surf youtube and watch many different videos, they probably come across a short film and if it interests them they will watch it. 

Comedy films have a large target audience due to Comedy having various sub genres, the sub genres present in my short film are slapstick,dark comedy and satirical comedy, these sub genres are usually popular with audiences of 15-30 years of age.
