Agenda: 

1. We have a student teacher! Meet Ms. Stoddart :) 

2. Reading time. Journal entry! 

   • Brayden: add reflection to BioPoem 

3. Review Section 2 devices and Point of View 

   • Blooket review 

4. Pass out class set of The Necklace & reader's response paper. 

5. Begin reading the story--pause to discuss and respond to reading

   • Box 1: figurative language (highlight when you see it!) 

   • Box 2: what POV do you see? 

   • Box 3: pause and jot down ideas/responses! 

   • Box 4: sketch an emoji that highlights the MOOD of two different key scenes

   • Box 5: provide an example of foreshadowing 

6. If time allows, share Bio Poems (choose one line to share). I'm so proud of how y'all did on this! 

Homework: 

• Study for your Literary Device Section 2 quiz on August 29th

• If you have turned in your Bio Poem and reflection, no homework! :)
