Cohort A (virtual)

  1. Watch the video (here) on how to get information on virtual days and what to expect from English this year.

  2. Complete attendance form in Google Classroom.

  3. Think about any possible books you'd like to read during independent reading time. (You can look through my instagram highlights for suggestions!) If you already have a book, go ahead and read it for 20 minutes.

  4. Work on writing your own thesis by participating in this Pear Deck.

  5. Students will respond to question on Google Classroom: Pick the argument (Lawrence or Big 10)that you think is the most persuasive. Make sure that you have a clear argumentative thesis statement (really a topic sentence). Use evidence in your body paragraphs. Write the paragraph in the assignment in Google Classroom. (This is assignment 1.2 in GCR)

Cohort B (in-person)

  3. Did you have trouble getting into Google Classroom? Sites? Virtual stuff?

  4. MAP testing! You have to test on Monday (virtually). This was a state decision. I fought. I failed. :)

  1. Book talk (encourage students to pick up a choice novel)--pick a book by 9/18

  2. Give novel (Oedipus)

  3. What do you know about....RHETORIC?

  4. Writing your own thesis!

  5. Write your own paragraph in GCR!

  6. Kahoot if time!
