Expressions of interest for hire or co-production are very much encouraged. A hire involves daily or weekly fee paid upfront with your production being separate from the work of Lexi Sekuless Productions. A co-production involves an agreed box-office split post the production with producing elements and effort being shared. It is important for groups to make sure they share the same values of a commitment to professional technique and a belief in the horizontal growth of the industry.
Another thing to help with your decision of hire versus co-production is to see if your show fits with the programming themes of the Mill Theatre.
Our seasons are based on these principles:
The Adaptation: there is nothing new under the sun - what can we learn from an existing work?
The Tentpole: which shows will have most appeal for our audiences?
The Gamble: with a bit of the past and a bit of popularity under our belts, we'll take some risks.
The Revival: regular programming of the national repertoire is essential for telling our Australian stories (that's what we think!)

Please note that if you have a brand new show which you have been working away at for months or years and you have never done any professional theatre work before, then this application process is not for you unless you are willing to hire the theatre and produce the work entirely yourself. The winner of Summerhall’s Lustrum Award at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe is coming to Australia with their latest show. A story about the son of the god of the sun, HELIOS transplants the Ancient Greek tale into a modern-day myth wound round the winding roads of rural England and into the everyday living of a towering city. A story about life, and about the invisible monuments we build to it.

In a classical cello recital meets performance art clown show, Karen Hall skillfully walks the line between artistry and insanity. Featuring Suite Number One in G Major by JS Bach and personal comedic pieces crafted in Idiot classes, Karen fuses in a healthy dose of pathos as she tackles identity, expectations, and success through the eyes of a fool.

This provocative play immerses audiences in a dystopian society where a mysterious procedure, known only as "the cut," promises salvation at a significant moral cost. Founded by Canberra entrepreneurs Sammy Moynihan and Marlene Radice, The Seeing Place is dedicated to creating bold, political theatre inspired by Ancient Greek traditions and the philosophies of Augusto Boal.
