The Executive Committee consists of the Moderator, Assistant Moderator, and Secretary. Our job as a committee is to oversee general Senate activity and make sure each committee is on task and working efficiently. Our moderator's job is to make sure Senate meetings follow the agenda. Our Assistant Moderator is there to clarify rules and regulations within the Senate and school policies. Our secretary takes meeting notes, keeps track of attendance, and handles other formalities. We meet with the principal once a month to give feedback gathered from Senate meetings.
Our goals for this year are to ensure LHS Senate engages with a variety of student demographics and to encourage LHS students to consider what could change academically.
Beyond policy technicalities, we want senators and students alike to voice their desires for new courses or new elective opportunities.
As the new school comes into place, physical changes will be less noticeable to future students, so we hope to create a scholastic environment that leaves a lasting legacy beyond our time here.
