How does it train us for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)?
At Diamond we learn STEM subjects and humanities.
How can this help us make a difference in the world?
STEM can help for engineering and science, but we should not neglect the humanities because that's where we get our values. Our values will help us decide what to pursue in STEM fields. Our good values will help us make sure that the difference we make is a positive difference. Reading books helps us learn to empathize with others, and you don't get that as much from STEM subjects alone. You need both STEM and humanities.

There is a lot of improvement between 6th and 7th grade. They learn to be more organized, and they get used to school homework. In 6th grade, the students are starting to build on their skills like close reading, and in 7th grade, they know what to do.

You learn about the evolution of humans, which is great for healthcare. Close Reading is also important, mostly after getting out of college to become a doctor, you read many papers. Learning to interact with our peers, and our classmates helps us later in healthcare, when you should be interacting kindly with the person you are treating.

When you go out to the world, you should always be kind and polite to the people around you. Our humanities are very important. In history, we learn about diversity, and how things like farming and technology started in early life.

All sciences are about problem-solving, and in engineering and design we always do problem solving. The skills we teach are applicable for any field.
How can an education help our middle school students make a difference in the world?
Every human is born with a lot of potential, and you need training to reach your full potential.
