REQUIREMENTS, EXPECTATIONS & GENERAL INFO

2023 TRYOUT SCHEDULE

Wednesday, September 6th 2:50 - 4:20

Thursday, September 7th 2:50 - 4:20

Friday, September 8th 2:50 - 4:20

Monday, September 11th 2:50 - 4:20

2023 PRACTICE SCHEDULE

Practices will be held every day, besides game days, from 2:50 - 4:20.

If there is a half-day or no school, there is no practice.

Practices end promptly at scheduled times, unless noted by the coach.  All athletes should be picked up immediately after practice or have permission to walk home.

                          FIELD HOCKEY EQUIPMENT

Proper Field Hockey Equipment is essential for safe and fun play, and also a necessary component of the official rules of the game.  That being said, if anything is damaged or missing, players will not be allowed to play during practices and/or games.

Goggles: Specific to field hockey. They must have a ASTM sticker. The cage goggles work best. They are available at most sporting good stores and range in price from $25-$50.  No Lacrosse Goggles! (these look very similar but are missing a protective bar that the field hockey goggles have, and refs will not allow athletes to play without correct eye protection)

Mouth guard: They must be colored. Clear mouth guards are not legal for play. I recommend buying more than one.  You will not be able to play without a mouth piece.

Water bottle:  Please bring a water bottle with you to ALL practices and games.  We will be conditioning during preseason and running throughout the drills.

Cleats: Are strongly recommended, but not required. You will be less likely to slip when moving on the field than you would be in regular athletic footwear.

(Blue) Shin guards: Knee length with ankle bone protection specific to field hockey.  The color is important for refs to see during games

Field hockey stick: If you don't have your own, please contact Ms. Moulton prior to first day of tryouts.  Proper sizing is determined by height, leg length, and arm length

Change of clothes for Practice:  Please make sure you are ready for practice at 2:50

Uniform for Games: Please make sure you are ready in full uniform before boarding game buses

Jewelry:  MUST be removed for games!
