Notes on writing a thesis for Q2:

1. Answer the question.
2. Use the Language of the Prompt.
3. Consider the MOTWAAW--if you know it, try to put it in the first paragraph. If you don't know it, write your way into it.
4. Your body paragraphs should FOLLOW THE PLOT
5. Point out literary devices AS THEY HAPPEN IN THE PLOT and ONLY IF YOU KNOW THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE LITERARY DEVICE.
6. NO RHETORICAL TERMS (except, potentially, the modes: narration, description (better to use the word imagery) )

• Literacy Journeys will continue September 11th
• Question 2 Timed Writing (prose) Sept 13th.
• Vocabulary Quiz Unit 1 September 17th
