During my journey, I was able to tech-play with various types of digital tools. I learned new and effective ways to make learning more engaging and meaningful for my students. I learned about the TPACK Model and how to use it to bring content, pedagogy, and technology together to enhance student learning experiences. One Artifact below is my blog, a blog permits permits for the ability to share knowledge, write reflections, and create autonomy in one's learning.
Lessons and artifacts I have designed have also been embedded within my blog.
This is the lesson plan template for the rounding lesson I created for my Intro to Technology course. The links are active in the Google Slides. I formed this lesson plan with the end in mind, I looked at the TEKs and used Bloom's Taxonomy by looking at the verbs in the standards. I have also included the misconceptions that students may have in order to address them if they arise. I learned that the integration of technology helps make lessons more meaningful and impactful.
As part of my Tech Play 3 Creativity Tools assignments. I created this Prezi presentation for virtual learning. It is an estimation/rounding lesson. As a teacher, I have found that students often struggle with rounding. This interactive lesson contains videos and tutorials using Screencastify. The slide itself is in drag-and-drop format. It is a skills practice activity. Students were encouraged to reflect on their learning after completing this lesson. I used the T-pack Model framework to create both the lesson and presentation. Using the T-pack Model, I thought about how I would teach and use technology to support my lesson.
This Prezi design lesson is on Biography Vs. Autobiography. I included this presentation in Tech Play 3. I had a great time exploring Prezi and using this Google Slides lesson I created. Using Prezi allowed me to turn this presentation into a more interactive lesson. I used the tools I learned in class regarding TPACK and SAMR to make this lesson engaging and impactful.
Rubrics are an essential aspect of evaluation. Providing student feedback on any project or assignment is vital. I collaborated with my group to Design this rubric for Web 2.0 in ETEC 527. I utilized it to evaluate the activities and Hyperdoc I created. I learned that evaluating technology is an integral part of technology implementation; finding technology that will contribute to student ease of use is engaging, and promoting learning and growth is essential.
Part of being an educator and librarian is having the ability to create and design meaningful, impactful, and engaging lessons. Through this assignment, I learned how to focus on the learning intention and success criteria, and I built a digital lesson that would promote exploration and increase engagement and schema. The Hyperdoc above focuses on TEKS 5.5A, providing students with various exploration methods through digital technology and ensuring student learning through technology implementation.
A lesson plan is a very impactful tool to organize and structure the flow of instruction. This lesson plan outlines the success criteria and learning intentions required to teach and implement the Web 2.0 lesson and HyperDoc successfully. My lesson plan includes embedded hyperlinks to make material and technology access convenient. As with other tasks, I utilized the T-Pack Model that I learned during my first courses of study. By learning how to create hyperDocs, I was able to provide my students with a multimodal experience in learning.
Exploration is key in education. I was able to "play" in my maker space course. In this maker space coding project, The light could switch on and off like the switches in our homes. I learned how to follow a design code, which is detrimental to showing comprehension of both skill and technology. Using coding maker space activities like this will allow my students to see how things work in our everyday lives.
I learned how to code and will be able to utilize the skills I learned in my future library maker spaces with my students. Students will become 21st-century explorers/learners by learning coding skills. Learning to explore and tinker benefited me as a learner and code designer. Using Arduino technology allowed me to make my learning possible. It is okay to fail when learning; it permits growth to occur.
ETEC 568 Maker Spaces
I used a floor planning program to help design and create this maker space lab. This area will promote student growth, collaboration, exploration, and technology /programming use. The layout space allows for student movement and engagement. Using software like this in my coursework enabled me to gain background knowledge to implement in my classes. Students can create floor plans while learning about area and perimeter. Using this floor planning program through exploration and learning how to use it will allow me to empower my student's learning through exploration.
Funding is not always available for libraries to purchase necessary items for their collections. Designing and writing an effective grant proposal is essential to acquiring funds that will benefit student learning and growth. Through this assignment, I learned how to refine my research skills. I considered a program that would benefit the school community. Creating a detailed presentation would prove beneficial in communicating the needs and goals of this valuable program. Access to technology that will provide real-world experiences is essential to helping my students become 21st-century-ready.
