About Me.

Texas A&M University-Commerce was my university of choice when I decided to pursue my MS - in Educational Technology/Library Science degree. I have many skills and talents in and out of the education field. I like learning about everything; I am interested in everything around me.

I graduated from Texas A&M San Antonio in 2014. I have been an Educator for the last nine years, primarily in 5th grade. I knew I wanted to be a Librarian at an early age, but it has taken some time to get the opportunity to continue my education to make those dreams a reality.

Reading books is what I love to do! When given the opportunity, I enjoy discussing the books that I have read with my friends and colleagues. I believe that reading books can take you almost anywhere you can imagine. You don't need to spend on airfare or gas for travel, maybe just the cost of your book of choice, unless you check one out at the public library.

I have been married for 26 years and have two children, ages 20 and 24. I have several different hobbies aside from reading. I bake and crochet. I also love to try new foods! I love being with my family when I am not at school or work.

My resume includes my career objectives, educational and teaching experience, but I have many years of experience in bookkeeping, banking and retail (being a business owner) under my belt as well. My past experiences in the different fields that I worked, show through in my instruction, I always make connections between the jobs that I had and the lessons that I am teaching.

Texas A&M University 2014

Graduating from Texas A&M San Antonio. was one of my biggest achievements. I graduated High School in 1992, went to college a couple of years, and shortly was married and began a family. In 2010, when my children were old enough and in school, I returned to college. From 2010 to 2012 I attended San Antonio College earned my AAT, then transferred to TAMU-SA. Where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2014.

Teacher of The Year 2020-21

I was nominated for the Teacher of the Year Award in both 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. I love my job and appreciated being nominated both years. Even though I did not win the first year and was quite frankly surprised I won the second year. It was a very great experience. It was nice to get noticed by my peers for the hard work I had accomplished. I felt that every teacher deserved that award also.
