We are immensely proud of our Year 6 children for their conscientious and mature approach during SATs week. It was hugely gratifying to see the children trying their very best. What more could we ask for? Each and everyone was our Star of the Week! It was lovely to see the children make the most of our post-SATs water fight: not only drenching each other, but us too! We are now looking forward to our school production, plenty of outdoor learning opportunities and, of course, our Isle of Wight trip.
In English, we are catching up with ourselves - finishing off our non-chronological report on Antarctica and, then, looking forward to writing a letter of application to join Shackleton's expedition on board his ship, Endurance. Our Maths will be taking the form of project work in Summer 2. In History, we are just finishing our topic on the fascinating Sikh Empire. Using Microbit, the children have been using their programming skills and, in Art, we have been making multi-layered self-portraits. Our current Science topic is 'Animals including Humans', with a focus on the heart and circulatory system. As you can see from the photos, making 'blood' was a messy but fun business.
After half term, we have a cake sale on Friday 6th June to raise funds for microphones for our production. So please help your children to bake for the sale. There's an author visit on the same day and pond dipping too!
We hope that you have a relaxing half term.
Thank you for your continued support.
With best wishes,
Ms MacFarlane, Ms Clemson and Mrs Povey
