Puffins have had a brilliant few weeks. We enjoyed visiting Shawley Primary School last week to take part in a Climate Action event. Puffins were especially excited to work with other Year 3 children to design a kit for their team.
Our focus text for our English lessons for the next few weeks is Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura. The children have enjoyed predicting what might happen in the story and are looking forward to reading more. In Maths we have been learning about addition and have moved onto using a formal written method for addition and have introduced renaming (exchanging/carrying). As part of our learning in History the children learnt about the prehistoric village of Skara Brae. They thought about what it could tell us about life during the Stone Age.
Last week the children enjoyed taking part in a live STEAM lesson. They travelled to the futuristic city of Megawatt Metropolis with a mission to reduce its carbon emissions. During the session they also met Engineers, urban planners and farmers, scientists, and architects who were all working together to create a better world. They explored new inventions and sustainable solutions that can help save our planet. The session was highly interactive and the children used their Chromebooks to vote on critical decisions that determined the future of Megawatt Metropolis.

We are looking forward to our trip to Buster Ancient Farm next Friday. Please ensure you have given permission for your child to attend on Arbor. Also if you are able to accompany us, please let me know via the office as we will need a couple of other adults to come with us. Thank you!
