This week, Lions have been researching and writing biographies about Edmund Hillary. They have been finding out about his childhood, early life and accomplishments. In maths we have been exploring time, focusing on AM and PM and telling the time to the nearest minute. In our science lessons we have been learning about shadows and how shadows change. In our geography lessons, we have been learning about Earnest Shackleton and his attempt to cross the South Pole. We have also enjoyed recapping the Easter story in our RE lessons and finding out how Easter is celebrated around the world.
Next week, we will be finishing our text First to the Top and will be exploring persuasive writing. We will then be writing a persuasive leaflet. In maths, we will continue our time work by continuting to look at telling the time correctly, both using the 12 hour clock and the 24 hour clock. We will also be looking at Roman Numerals when telling the time. In our science lessons, we will be looking at different light sources and their affect on shadows. In our geography lessons we will be looking at creating an expedition around our school.
